As I sit at work, and yes I write posts from my phone, I can't help but ponder the events of my life. Recently a friend mentioned she might delete her Facebook account and it got me thinking, what do I really use my Facebook account for?
When I really sit and think about it I'm not sure if having one is even a good idea. Whenever I post something I'm always concerned about what other people will think or say. I know that seems silly and overly worrysome, but anyone who knows me well will undersand why that bothers me to such an extent. So I have now been contemplating deleting my personal Facebook account. I know some will say, Facebook is a great way to stay in touch with friends and family but I would much rather receive a phone call or text message.
I miss actually seeing and speaking to the people I love and associate with.
I have made up my mind, I am going to delete my Facebook account. However, I am going to start an account for Lalee Cakes so I can continue to post pictures of cakes I make.
Besides, with my blog and Facebook I feel like I have too many social networking sites I am trying to keep up with and maintain. If you disagree with my decision, so be it. I don't expect everyone to understand, and that is ok.
I am content with my decision to delete my Facebook account. I'm not sure when I will have the time to do it, but soon.
Happy bloggin y'all!
Aw man. That means my friend count is going down! I hope you'll still be my friend. : ) J/K
ReplyDeleteI know a lot of people who have felt like that. I say, do it! If you feel like you're done with it, don't even worry about what people think or say. If the virtual world is taking too much time from the things that are important to you, then get rid of it. It'll be like a load off of your back. I know what you mean about feeling like you have to "keep up" with so many things and people. It's like the more you facebook the more you have to check it.
Anyway, if you really want to get a jump start on having more person to person interactions, why don't you & Nick come over for games one of these night when we put the kids down! We've been wanting to hang out with you anyway, so let's plan it!
